By the name of “Necessity”
Today, there is much deviation from the righteous attitude in the Muslim persons at some issues by the name of necessity. This thing is most annoying for those who do care to practice the Islamic teachings in the best way possible in the current trying circumstances. These issues mostly relate to the use of mobile cell phones, admission to hospitals, number of TV channels operating around with low care to Islamic moral values and extra-curricular activities at academic institutions. The notable point in all these is that there is much violation of the command of HEJAB in all these issues due to different reasons and I, MSD, would presently comment briefly on these, insha-Allah by the Islamic perspective; note well that Islam asks for the necessary privacy for all Muslim persons yet it does not appreciate terms like “personal” as all of Muslims have to practice Islamic commands individually and collectively at the Islamic environment by ADL or by EHSAAN with integrity, without caring to take anything on any “personal” level; certainly, all Muslims are brothers to each other with liability to keep each other to Islamic manner of living with much care to each other and certainly, Islamic manner of living is most integrated in its manifestation at practice; Al-Hamdu Lillah; Surah NOOR relates explicitly to the social issues of Muslims and reading of good commentary on it by some authentic TAFSIR would do well to understand the command of HEJAB and its application; this Surah guides to the best of morality that the good Muslims would practice at their social issues; it guides all Muslim men & women to keep away from all shameful doings (specially to keep strictly away from adultery), to keep away from accusing any person of adultery (specially from accusing anyone among the noble Muslim ladies who are most reserved in attitudes and are unaware to attract men); to keep away from spreading information that urges curiosity to shameful attitudes; to protect eyes from gazing persons of other gender and to protect their respective private parts to come in view of persons of other gender even if it is by the name of necessity; to care for some specific necessary additional commands for the best of morality that relate to Muslim women for HEJAB that develops their attitude of reservation towards men; to care for chastity in general fervently at surroundings by making ease for all persons to getting married; to avoid forcing women to become extremely shameful and to avoid gains of worldly benefits by urging women to become bold towards unrelated men at surroundings; this Surah also notes like many other places at the Quran, that all Muslims would remain grateful to blessings that Allah has provided well to all of mankind for the safety of life, physically and spiritually, in total abundance; Al-Hamdu Lillah; note that this Surah asks to care for privacy of each other (see Surah NOOR-58 & 59) yet it commands to punish persons who commit adultery, whether male or female, by severe corporal punishment (see Surah NOOR-2); this tells the difference between caring for privacy (that is needed) and caring for matters that are termed as personal (that has no place at the Islamic manner of living as Islam is DEEN which means the complete integrated code of life); Al-Hamdu Lillah. Note also that to save the Islamic environment from all shameful attitudes, the Surah also indicates that it is necessary that all reporting of all events at all media of communication remain in such manner officially among the Muslims at any given surroundings which does not cause any shameful attitude to spread or to take hold at the place among the masses (see Surah NOOR-19). Islam strictly commits to keeping it away from the Muslims (though at any age of their lives) even if it needs to censor anything from the media though for other of issues, it inspires the Muslims to care even more than other peoples at the world, for the freedom of expression yet most surely, with care to speaking of facts only with such manner of expression that do not hurt anyone and most surely, with care to appreciating the goodness in other persons especially in the good Muslims, by their own internal sense of virtues, as they all are like brothers who care to live most harmoniously among each other; read also my writing “Tafsiri Guide” that is available at net and “The Islamic Guidelines” for further detail; Al-Hamdu Lillah.
As for the use of mobile cell phones, there is no care to avoid pictures of living things presently or any such video, whereas Islam strictly asks to avoid these, so camera needs to be banned in them. But as of now, in the name of necessary usage, camera at the mobile cell phones is being used for selfies whereas videos of different sorts are being watched for entertainment which are also available at calls (i.e. video-calls). The Islamic set-up even needs to disallow the Internet service at the mobile cell phones to keep them most related to calls without any video. However, the graphics at games (and even the audio music to necessary limit) are tolerable with some necessary reservation. Note that wherever necessary to send important documents or official papers somewhere, it is better that the general commercial service cares for it professionally. Actually at the Islamic environment, necessity does ask to avoid camera that relates to still pictures & video at mobile cell phones; Al-Hamdu Lillah.
As for admission to hospitals, note that there is such mixed environment there with little care about the reservation that Islam asks by its teachings of HEJAB to all Muslim persons that it certainly deserves avoidance. The male personnel serve lady patients at different departments at hospitals which Islam does not appreciate and in fact, it does not even appreciate that female personnel serve the male patients as it is extremely strict at separation of both genders in care to their physical issues. But in the name of necessity to get cure to physique, even admission to hospitals is sought. If genuinely utmost necessary, then the female patient may stay during the day at clinic without any such exposure of her physique that the Islamic teachings disallow strictly and with care that her close relatives accompany her there. However, her stay at night there is not feasible even if seemingly there is no problem to it, so she would return to home. Certainly, the male patients too, need to comply to this attitude strictly. This is how Islam rules the matter so actually, necessity asks to avoid admission to hospitals (and this is for both men & women) due to care for HEJAB that Islam strictly asks of them; Al-Hamdu Lillah.
As for number of TV channels operating around, it has led to much involvement of women-folk at media that presents their performance to all. It has diminished care for utmost strictness which Islam gives to HEJAB and undoubtedly, reservation should have been exercised when the permission to number of channels was given. All programs they present, care but little for HEJAB of women (even at news and programs that analyze them) and this has become some trend with such magnitude that it does profess against the Islamic teaching of HEJAB. So actually, necessity asks to keep the TV channels to minimum and also for them, to avoid bringing women at fore at programs as much as possible, no matter how much talents they do show in their performance (we can insha-Allah do without that for the sake of HEJAB); even the Muslim women need to co-operate highly rather than challenge this reserved attitude for all TV channels that operate at the Islamic environment; Al-Hamdu Lillah.
As for the extra-curricular activities at academic institutions, note that co-education after the eighth grade is certainly most questionable by Islam whereas some of academic institutions promote even the dancing of female students. This is utmost wrong which needs challenge to it highly and all extra-curricular activities at the academic institutions need to be banned due to this issue which needs utmost attention to deal according to the Islamic teaching of HEJAB. So actually, necessity asks to keep such activities away from educational institutes with care that the students (especially the female students) do not manifest attitudes against the teaching of HEJAB whenever they complete their studies but care for it strictly; Al-Hamdu Lillah.
